Emirates is literally announcing codeshare agreements right (SpiceJet), center (AWA) and left (LATAM).

Earlier this year, there were agreements signed with AWA for West Africa and SpiceJet for India.

Today, Emirates and LATAM Airlines Brazil announced a codeshare partnership covering 17 destinations in Brazil. This goes a long way in connecting these destinations to Dubai (via a stopover in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro) and onward to Emirates’ global network.

Emirates LATAM Codeshare Details

Emirates currently serves two Brazil gateways with daily services to and from Sao Paulo, operated by the A380, and Rio de Janeiro, which will be operated by the newly-refurbished Boeing 777-200LR from June 1, 2019.

From these two hubs, Emirates passengers can connect to 17 destinations in Brazil using LATAM codeshare partnership. The covered cities are:

Both airlines have mentioned that they would endeavor to keep the connection times minimal.

In 2018, Brazil and UAE had signed a visa-waiver agreement. Under this, citizens of either country do not need a visa to travel to the other country. At present, Brazil nationals can enter UAE visa-free for 90 days. Therefore, this move should help incoming traffic in Dubai.
