Emirates Skywards Crosses 25 Million Members, Launches Interesting Offers

Emirates Skywards is one of the most popular airline loyalty programs out there. On September 11, 2019, Emirates Skywards crossed 25 million members. To celebrate the occasion, Emirates has launched some interesting offers. These offers are live now.

Buy or Gift Skywards Miles at 25% Discount

This is not the first time this year that Emirates is offering bonus miles or discounted miles. However, the bonus / discounts are usually tiered. This means, the more you buy, the better deal you get.

On this occasion though, Emirates is offering flat 25% discount on all purchases above 5,000 miles. In other words, if you are looking to supplement your Skywards miles by a small amount, the best time is now.

Usually, Emirates allows you to purchase a maximum of 100,000 miles in a calendar year. However, for this particular promotion, you can buy up to an additional 100,000 miles.

25% Discount on Redemption and Upgrade

If you itinerary is to and from Dubai you are in luck.

You can upgrade your flight from Economy to Business or Business to First at 25% discount.

Or, if you are looking for an outright redemption, you can book ‘Saver’ reward flights at 25% discount. This is valid for Economy and Business class.

The booking dates are between September 12-19. Travel dates between September 12 to December 12, 2019. For upgrades, only ‘Flex’ and ‘Flex Plus’ fares are eligible for the discount.

25% More Value on Using Cash + Miles

Emirates claims it does not have a set rate for using cash+miles. However, I have noticed that the value you get is usually $40 for 5,000 miles. While this is not a great value, there may be several situations when you want to cash out.

In the present promotion, Emirates is offering 25% more value to your miles. In other words, you get $50 for 5,000 miles.
