Redeeming Points

Hotel Stays

This is the full reward chart. Note that the redemption points below are only the starting rates. It is normal for Burj Al Arab to go for higher points in the peak season.
Hotel / Resort City Redemption starts from
Jumeirah Creekside Hotel Dubai 5,300
Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Dubai 5,900
Jumeirah Nanjing Nanjing 6,600
Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai 7,500
Jumeirah Frankfurt Frankfurt 8,300
Jumeirah At Etihad Towers Abu Dhabi 8,300
Jumeirah At Saadiyat Island Resort Abu Dhabi 8,760
Jumeirah Emirates Towers Dubai 8,900
Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa Kuwait 9,900
Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel London 10,700
Jumeirah Beach Hotel Dubai 11,800
Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf Dubai 11,800
Jumeirah Mina A`Salam Dubai 11,800
Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa Abu Dhabi 11,800
Jumeirah Port Soller Hotel & Spa Mallorca 11,900
Jumeirah Al Qasr Dubai 13,000
Jumeirah Al Naseem Dubai 13,000
Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence Dubai 13,000
Jumeirah Royal Saray Bahrain 15,000
Grosvenor House Suites London 16,100
Jumeirah Carlton Tower London 17,500
Burj Al Arab Jumeirah Dubai 41,200
Jumeirah Vittaveli Maldives 50,600
Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Residences Dubai 117,700
That is a lot of different price points (18 for a group having 24 hotels). And we criticize Bonvoy for its 8 categories 🙂
Because of this, it is very difficult to ascribe a value to the points. I could see some great redemption opportunities at Jumeirah Emirates Towers, Frankfurt, Nanjing and Al Naseem. These hotels could give a value of 4 to 6 cents per point on the dates I checked. Many others gave about 2 cents.
The London hotels in particular showed very high points required – 2 to 3 times than what is mentioned in the table.

Dining

Your points can be redeemed for a set-menu style dining experience across Jumeirah hotels. There are various levels depending on the category of restaurant.
You can find the full list here
There are a lot of restaurants including some of my favorites – Scrape at Burj Al Arab, Tortuga and Zheng He’s. It is difficult to know the exact value you would get from this redemption. My best guess is about 3 cents per points.

Reward Store

You have the option to redeem your points on the reward store at
The store is well stocked. However, as with most loyalty programs across the world, this is one of the worst possible way to redeem.
For example, AirPods go for 14,200 points. Its retail price on Souq is $175. This gives you only 1.2 cents per point.

Credit Card Partners

Jumeirah Sirius Program has two credit card partners.
American Express
You could transfer MR points in the ratio of 3:1. If you are able to make a lucrative redemption, this transfer could be quite rewarding.
You can find my take on American Express Platinum Credit Card here.
Citi Life
You earn 2.5 CitiDollars on every AED of purchases in foreign currency and 1.5 CitiDollars on every AED of purchases in local currency.
CitiDollars can be transferred to Sirius in the ratio of 15:1.
Annual fee for the card is AED 300.
I hope more credit card partners are added in future.

Airline Partners

There are 4 airline partners – Emirates, Saudia, Japan Airlines and ANA. You could earn airline miles on your hotel stays. While not mentioned clearly, it is unlikely you could double dip.
You can also transfer your Sirius points to any of these in the ratio of 2:1.

Bottomline

Jumeirah Sirius is one of the smallest hotel loyalty programs. However, the chain is growing fast. Earnings are simple enough, redemption is another story altogether. I sincerely hope they simplify the award chart.
Some of these properties are very impressive. Further, your points can fetch up to 6 cents which is like 12% return on your spends. For Silver and Gold members, this could rise up to 18%. This coupled with free transfers (especially in Maldives) makes for a very lucrative loyalty program.

  1. Worth noting that Jumeirah’s IT is not slick and can work in your favour. For example they originally forgot to classify October as peak season at Madinat this year allowing me to pick up $1500 per night DAM villas for 11,800 points …..
