As mentioned on my previous post, tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated yesterday. This resulted in severe flight disruptions – both domestic and international.

It appears that the situation has eased somewhat today.

In the early hours, civilian traffic was opened in Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Dehradun and other impacted airports in India. As an example, Dubai to Amritsar flights (6E48, IX192 and SG56) were operating today (some were delayed though).

Flight radar seems to indicate that flights are operating normally now. However, I would strongly suggest checking with your airline if you are travelling on any of the impacted cities or routes.

Now, AirportPakistan has announced that it has received NOTAM to resume operations on March 1, 2019 at 8:00AM Eastern Time (1:00PM GMT). It seems the few planes you see over Pakistan airspace above are Saudia and FlyDubai aircrafts returning to their bases.

I sincerely hope the situation becomes normal soon.
