LifeMiles frequently comes up with deals offering bonus miles on hotel bookings through its platform. LifeMiles can be a fairly valuable currency for booking Star Alliance flights.
Today only from 10 am to 10 pm CT (7 pm to 7am Dubai time) LifeMiles has a great promotion. If you book a hotel anywhere in the world, on almost half the hotels you will get 3x miles. Stays are eligible from June 27, 2019 to December 31, 2019.
LifeMiles 3x Promotion
The total number of miles offered in this promotion is 10 million. Therefore, it is best to make your bookings immediately before the miles run out. Further, each user can earn maximum 100,000 miles and a maximum of two reservations can be made per user.
LifeMiles members should be signed in their accounts to avail the 3x miles which will be awarded after the hotel stay is completed.
There are some clear bargains here. I would particularly look at Dubai and highlight some great deals. Although, such deals would be available in most large cities. For the purposes of calculation, I will consider LifeMiles to be valued at 1.5 cents a mile.
Sofitel Dubai The Palm Luxury Apartments
Implied cashback: $135 or 72%
Renaissance Downtown Hotel
Implied cashback: $90 or 72%
Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah Beach
Implied cashback: $225 or 67%
Nassima Royal Downtown
Implied cashback: $45 or 58%
Remember, this offer is valid for hotels worldwide even though I have given example of Dubai above. I was looking at Hilton Garden Inn Kuala Lumpur which will cost US$ 38 per night gives you 1,200 LifeMiles per night implying a cashback of 40%.
We consider LifeMiles to be particularly useful for Middle East. In fact, LifeMiles has become my default loyalty program for crediting Star Alliance flights. It is one of the very few frequent flyer program by a Star Alliance member that gives you online access to inventory. For most other airlines, you have to pick up your phone and call.
Last year, I had purchased LifeMiles and booked a business-class trip on Swiss (Dubai – Zurich). The price was a steal – only marginally more than economy tickets and 70% lower than business class fares. If you want to know more, please read my earlier post – Luxury Trip to Swiss Alps at Economy Prices.
